After 15 years of drug and alcohol addiction Evan obtained sobriety through Christ and Celebrate Recovery.  Now after five years sober Evan works with others struggling to break their bonds of addiction. 

1ofusministries was conceived in prison.  There wasn’t room in standard population, so Evan was placed in the high-risk section.  In the “High-Risk” section one prisoner stood out.  (At his request his name was withheld) He was always reading the Bible and on Sunday’s led a Bible study.  He and Evan became friends and Bible study companions.  Many would label this “jail house religion" and expect it to disappear when they were released.  Not only has it continued, but it also became a passion burning within Evan’s heart.  The meaning behind the name is simple. Christ was 100% God, yet He came to earth 100% man. Born in the flesh Christ experienced the same hurts, pains, feelings, and anguish every man feels. Christ was 1 of us.  The ministry “1ofusministries" was born behind those prison bars.  Evan realized there was nothing he suffered that Christ didn’t 100% understand.  Evan has maintained his sobriety and now spreads the message of Christ through 1ofus.  Evan’s goal is to offer Christian Counseling to those in need. I’m Harvey Brown, Evan’s dad. His dedication motivated me to create an official 501c nonprofit for 1ofusministries and as of Jan1, 2022 it’s official.

He set us free from the bondage of death and will set you free from the bondage of addiction and living a life without Christ.
